D'Angelo Set To Return in 2009


After a nine year break between new records, R&B star D’Angelo is planning a big return. According to Billboard.com, D’Angelo will be collaborating with Prince, Gnarls Barkley’s Cee-Lo Green, Raphael Saadiq, Mark Ronson and Roy Hargrove on his upcoming release. D’Angelo’s next record will reportedly be called “James River,” and J Records is expected to release the album this summer. Along with the new LP, D’Angelo plans to tour Europe and the U.S. beginning this summer. Although cities and dates have yet to be announced. In recent years, D’Angelo has experienced a car accident and drug-related arrests. However, his manager Lindsay Guion is confident in his client stating, quote, “He’s coming back. And he looks great, by the way.”
D’Angelo also took a moment to share his thoughts about President Barack Obama’s historic inauguration on Tuesday. In a statement to AllHipHop.com, the singer states, quote, “I believe that even in the face of domestic and global adversity, he will bring about important change.
